We are here to help.

  • The City of Ennis is diligently working on a sustainable recycling program for the residents of Ennis. In the mean time, a dumpster for recyclables is located at 500 Lake Bardwell Drive, Ennis, TX 75119. However, there are plenty of places around town that accept anything from books to toys to clothes to glass to scrap metal. Please consider donating items before tossing them in the trash or recycle bin.

Click here for a list of locations.

If you would like to add your location to this list, please contact us.

  • Designed to support residents who do not have the means or ability to maintain their yards, this program allows Ennis residents to apply for assistance and to borrow yard care tools / equipment from the City of Ennis. As this program and the tool supply grow, tools will become available for home repairs as well. If your family, business, or organization is looking for a way to show your neighbors love in a very real and tangible way, please consider donating to the tool supply or volunteering to assist our elderly and / or disabled neighbors with lawn and home repairs.

  • Each household that receives City of Ennis trash service is also allowed 2 free refuse disposal days per month at the Ellis County Disposal (Republic Waste Services) landfill.

Click here for requirements and restrictions.

  • If litter in your neighborhood has gotten out of control, we are happy to help you plan a Saturday morning neighborhood workday. Email KeepEnnisBeautiful@ennistx.gov to request assistance. In addition to promoting the workday on social media and our website, KEB can provide:

Supplies (trash bags, gloves, sunblock, insect repellant, etc.)

Temporary signs that you can place in the area of the cleanup a few days before (click to view)

Neighborhood workday fliers for you to distribute to your neighbors

Volunteers to assist picking up litter

  • Native plants help clean the air, trap carbon dioxide, reduce erosion from storm-water runoff, improve soil, decrease noise pollution, and reduce temperatures. Through the Love My Lawn program, homeowners can receive FREE native trees, shrubs, and mulch for their front yard. Click here for more information.

  • A good coat of paint is your home’s first line of defense against the harsh Texas weather. Through the Paint the Town program, homeowners may receive FREE paint and supplies to keep the exterior of their home healthy and beautiful. Click here for more information.

  • Don’t send usable building materials to the landfill! There are people in our community who would love to use your left over materials to repair their homes. Half sheets of sheetrock, miscellaneous shingles, 1/2 buckets of paint, random bits of plywood... almost ANYTHING... can be donated and put back into use in our community.

If you have finished a project or are cleaning out your shed and have USABLE materials to discard, email photos to KeepEnnisBeautiful@ennistx.gov. Depending on the materials (type and quantity) we will respond with instructions.

  • Click here for more information concerning illegal dumping within the city limits, including how to report it. Illegal dumping can result in fines of up to $10,000 and jail time!
